There are cat shows and then there are Cat Shows. All cat shows bring together hundreds of cats in dozens of breeds from all over to be judged on the qualities that best represent each of the breeds. For two days, each cat is judged by each of the six judges on everything from physical characteristics to personality. It is an ongoing competition, with numerous cat shows being held every weekend across the country and around the world. The best shows bring together the best cats for head to head competition, and the Cotton States show is always considered one of the top shows nationally. Many of the cats competing here will go on to become national winners for the year.
The Cotton States Club always tries to make its show an event, and each show has a theme. This year the theme is a Hawaiian Luau, and it will be a lot of fun and a chance to observe and learn about a variety of popular breeds of cat, as well as many lesser known and exotic breeds. Another benefit for cat owners attending the show is the great deals offered by many of the venders who will have booths around the show hall. They will offer products and services you might not find elsewhere, as well as discounted prices on others that you use all the time.
The Cotton States Cat Show will be held November 6 & 7 at the Gwinnett Civic Center, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth. Hours are 10AM to 5 PM on Saturday and 10AM to 4PM on Sunday. Admission is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.
